Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park is only a 30 minutes drive from Chestnut. Do a self-drive and enter Phabeni gate, or go on a guided open vehicle safari to have a better chance of spotting the Big 5 and other spectacular African wildlife. Get picked up and dropped off at our lodge, step into the open vehicle and enjoy the scenery and expertise of the guide. Book your game drive at the reception.

Community Tour

As we work very closely with a local community, we are able to offer community tours. No Tourist trap with dressed up dancers, but real-life rural South Africa. Play with the toddlers in their schoolyard, have a meeting with a local family, learn about the ancient traditions from the Sangoma and feel the warmth of the village. Book in advance to be sure not to miss this experience of a lifetime.

Golfing

With a 9 and an 18 hole golf course in Hazyview, plus 2 more 18-hole golf courses within a 30 minutes drive, you can say that we are a ‘golf mecca’ for golf enthusiasts. You even get to play alongside the hippos at the Skukuza golf course, and perhaps a few other animals that wander across the turf.

Panorama Route

A ‘must-see’ when staying in Hazyview, or rather, a ‘must-see’ for everyone!! Drive the scenic Panorama Route, but take your time to explore all the stops along the way. The Bourkes Luck Potholes, Three Rondavels, Lisbon Falls, and God’s Window are absolutely amazing but don’t just go tick off these boxes, there are many other places to explore.
